The Ireland General Work Permit is a permit which allows a non-EU citizen to work legally in Ireland for an employer in a particular occupation. The employment permit is initially granted for two years to applicants with job offer.You are not permitted to take up any form of employment, other than that for which you have already been approved.

Student Visa

You can begin your visa application to study in Ireland once you have applied for a programme and have been accepted by the university. To begin, let's go over the two kinds of student visas you should be aware of:

• C study visa: If you intend to study in Ireland for less than three months, you must file for this visa. This short-term visa is used by people who want to engage in a training programme or course that lasts 90 days or less.
• D study visa: If you enrol in a course that lasts more than three months, you must file for this visa. This is the visa that most foreign students choose.

Candidates wishing to file for a long-stay D Study Visa in Ireland must pay €60 for a single entry valid for 90 days and €100 for multiple entries. The visa fees for short-term C visas are the same.

Post Study Work Visa in Ireland

You can apply for a work visa in Ireland once you have found a job and wish to continue working after your stay-back time has ended.
You may be eligible for the Third Level Graduate Scheme if you are a full-time student with an Irish-recognised degree and have the Visa Stamp 2. The following are the procedure steps:

• After completing the course, students can petition for a non-renewable extension of up to two years. This extension is granted in order to locate suitable employment.
• You can later file for a green card (renamed Critical Skills Employment Permit) or a work permit. (renamed General Employment Permit).

Foreign grads authorised to work under the Third Level Graduate Scheme now receive a new visa stamp, Stamp 1G. As a result, if you receive Stamp 1G, you do not need to apply for a visa extension individually. The length of the extension is also determined by your National Framework of Qualifications degree. Graduate Employment Scheme is available to those pursuing degrees at the level of 8 or higher for a duration of 12 months. A 6-month delay will be granted to those with a level 7 degree.
